Nancy Kautz
Nancy (Seiders) Kautz graduated from Shepherdstown High School, WV, and
completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from West Virginian
University, where she also met her husband. She spent almost 35 years in
Pennsylvania working in Behavioral Health and raising three children. In
2000, she took her first watercolor class and found a love for the medium.
Her watercolor instructors have included: Nancy Hanson, Harrisburg Area
Community College, Adult Ed., Ann Faust Baron, Hanover (Pa) Area Art Guild,
Ron Schloyer, Hanover Area Art Guild, Bob Wantz, Washington County
Museum of Fine Arts, Catherine Hillis, Round Hill Art Center (Va), Laurie
Goldstein-Warren, Tom Lynch, Robin Poteet and Brienne Brown. In 2005,
Nancy and her husband moved back to West Virginia (Molers Crossroads) to
retire. She has taught watercolor classes for the Jefferson County, WV, Adult
Ed, and paints with the Shepherdstown Friday Morning Painters. Other
interests include raising Barbados Blackbelly sheep and making wine. Nancy
is a Signature Member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and a Signature
Member of the West Virginia Watercolor Society
