Mikkey Tarantino
Michalyn (Mikkey) Tarantino is a watercolor painter.
Mikkey has been drawing, painting and coloring since early childhood. Oil painting was her original expression, but in 1996, she began painting in watercolors and has studied them with passion ever since.
From studying with national watercolorists, Mikkey has developed a realistic style that exhibits strong drawing and strong color choices. The manipulation of both of these traits is the defining aspect of her work.
She is an elected member of the Garden State Watercolor Society, The New Jersey Watercolor Society and the Baltimore Watercolor Society. The American Artist Watercolor Magazine selected Mikkey as one of ‘Twenty Emerging Artists’ in their Fall 2007 publication. Her paintings are published in “The New Creative Artist” and ‘Confident Color’ by Nita Leland. She is the recipient of the 2005 and 2012 Medal of Honor from the New Jersey Watercolor Society. Her painting ‘Gas Crisis’ was chosen by the American Watercolor Society in their 2013 International Exhibition. Her work is exhibited in New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia and has received numerous awards. Her website address is Mikkeyart.com.
