The two watercolors by Mary Alice Bowers, The lemon scent of Magnolia and Tree Peony yellow and pink, measure 22x29 unframed will be on exhibit for the first time at the Potomac River Artist Guild Fine Arts Show and Sale, July 21 thru 23, 2017 at the Shepherdstown Community Center. The center is located at German and King Streets. It is open to the public 10:00 to 8:00 Friday and Saturday and 10:00 to 3:00 Sunday. Please join us for a meet the artist reception Saturday 3p.m.. This past month Mary Alice participated in an exhibit and Sale at the Berkeley Arts Center, Martinsburg. Jane, our Potomac River Artist’s Guild president wanted to mention that two of our members recently sold work at the Berkeley Art Works. Lannie sold one of his works and Monica Wilkins sold a watercolor "Watercress at the Pond". Jane also mentions that she is participating in the Valley Art Association Show at the Washington County Art Council. The reception is this Friday from 5-7pm. Sue Parker, a Potomac River Artist’s Guild member is coordinator of the show. Show runs from June 39 to July 27. Ronda says she has a tidbit for us. She says she recently had one of her watercolors titled " Lilies and Vines" accepted into the Virginia Watercolor Society's 38th Annual Exhibition. It will be held on October 14, 2017 to January 7, 2018 at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia.
Sharon Nick, Tom Nebel and Ziggy Wolodkewitsch just finished a successful show with the Clarke County Historical Society - Art At The Mill.... a wonderful venue that highlights the historic old mill and it's out of the way small town just east of Winchester, Virginia. The show was 2 weeks during the month of May 2017. Looking forward to seeing more Potomac River Artist's Guild work on the walls of the mill this fall.

Carol is currently showing 2 paintings in the Women's Center Art Exhibit 2017 from January 9th to May 5th at the Women's Center Art Gallery at FMH Crestwood, Frederick. I'll attach the 2 paintings (Barn owl and Running in Water) that I am showing. In addition, she says..." I just completed 3 commissions (3 kids, 2 cats and 3 dogs) and will send you those photos as well (I like the originals better than the photos that I took). " And Carol continues to find more ways to display her art... by letting us know that she is in the Valley Art Association North Gallery Show, "Just Monkeyin' Around". One of her students was featured in our ad in the Herald Mail's "What's Nxt" calendar. ![]() The Pilgrim Trail to Santiago de Compostela An illustrated talk by Claudia Giannini February 9, 2017/6:00 p.m. Dinner/7:00 p.m. Lecture Over the course of 35 days, Claudia and a friend hiked the Camino de Santiago—a 500-mile walk across northern Spain. A World Heritage Site, the Camino (also known as the Way of St. James) traverses beautifully preserved villages, spectacular scenery and culturally rich cities like León and Burgos. Claudia will share some of the highlights of her journey in an illustrated talk and discussion with the audience. Claudia Giannini serves on the museum's Board of Advisors and recently led a Gallery Talk on the Along the Eastern Road: Hiroshige's Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido in June 2016 at the museum.
