Lily Ramos-Burrows, who resides in Hedgesville, WV, was born in the Philippines and spent her adulthood in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. She pursued her passion for art with the support and instruction from Carol Wilks, a local artist, a fellow member of the Potomac River Artists Guild and Valley Art Association.
She considers painting an inspiration, a challenge and creative diversion from her busy life as a Registered Nurse and mother of two college students.
Her medium is mainly acrylic paint, however, she also ventured into oil and pastel. Her paintings feature her love of vibrant colors. Inspired by her travels around the world, many of her work feature land and seascapes as well as botanical and wildlife subjects.
Her paintings have been part of art shows at the Washington County Fine Arts Gallery; The Mansion House Gallery, Hagerstown, MD; The Shepherdstown PRAG Art Show, WV ; Ice House, Berkeley Springs, WV ; The Opera House, Charlestown, WV and Berkeley Arts Council, Martinsburg, WV. She also displayed paintings at the Fine Arts Gallery at Hagerstown, MD; Maloos Restaurant, Hagerstown, MD; participated in The Woods Resort Arts and Craft show, and did commission work.
She views painting as a therapeutic medium for the mind, body and soul, and encourages anyone to explore their creativity for enhancement of their wellbeing.
